Burythorpe House Hotel Malton, Malton

My stay at the hotel was delightful. The rooms were extremely comfortable with lovely views in beautiful countryside, despite the minor inconvenience of lacking heating and needing a borrowed heater. The service was impeccable, with the staff being very helpful and lovely to talk to throughout our two-night stay. The location was beautiful and peaceful, situated in the middle of the countryside, offering a perfect base for exploring the Yorkshire Wolds. The dining experience was hearty, although we had to prompt room servicing. Overall, a great stay with a few minor hiccups.

The hotel exudes an olde-worlde charm with beautiful wooden paneling in the rooms, albeit missing a full-length mirror. The shower pressure was invigorating, though the lack of air conditioning made the room uncomfortably warm at times. The service was top-notch with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The location offers serenity and a gorgeous view of the garden from the dining room. The dining experience provided a mix of positives and negatives, with the well-kept old-school vibe but also limitations in variety. Overall, a historical gem with some room for improvement.
